Our Story

The idea of starting fresh is such a unique concept. Sometimes we look to the future and tell ourselves “When the time is right… That’s when I will live my dream.”

For our family, the time to “live our dream” is now. We are native Californians who decided that it was time for a change for our family. We were striving for a fresh start and settled in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Our formative years have been spent in public service. Adam – a retired Sergeant from the Long Beach Police Department in CA; and Kristi – a primary school teacher (both in the classroom and online) were brought up on a strong work ethic and service to others.

We moved to Tennessee in the summer of 2022 and although we found our town, we continued to look for how we were going to live our new life.

After a lot of prayer, hard work, and family support, White Shepherd Coffee was born. It is our goal is to bring about memories, meeting new people each day, finding time to gather and share our lives with one-another, and to serve our community in this new, exciting way.

Grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend has always been one of our favorite things to do and we want our coffee to create memories for you too! We have invested our time to make your experience with White Shepherd Coffee something to look forward to again and again.

White Shepherd Coffee started as a mobile coffee trailer in October of 2022. It was clear that this community was in search of something very similar and continued to visit our little make-shift coffee location (located in a warehouse in south Spring Hill). This location was built up and developed into a stand-alone coffee shop. Since, we have been able to add a second mobile coffee truck (providing ample opportunity to serve various communities).

In the Spring of 2025, White Shepherd Coffee was blessed to have the opportunity to open a second store-front location (in Thompsons Station, TN). This coffee shop is nestled in the center of the Tollgate Village Business Development, surrounded by a number of amazing small business owners.

It is our goal to continue to grow our community relationships and have developed some great community partnerships with local ministries, schools, and non-profit organizations. These relationships have given us the opportunity to give back in ways we could only have imagined before.

We continue to believe that each day is a gift and starting fresh daily is a way of life. We have been given the opportunity to share our lives with you, and we would love to get to know you over a cup of coffee. We will strive to make each day count, and we wish you the best each day, from our family to yours.

Adam Sturgeon

Owner/Operator

You’ll find Adam bouncing around between the two shops, towing the coffee trailer, and operating the truck at special events.  Mostly you’ll see him stocking milk and making sure everyone is prepped and ready to go!  Adam is very proud of this company and everyone who has given time and effort to make it what it is today.  Adam’s background in Law Enforcement is very present in both shops, and you will see an oversized American Flag mural on the wall to show his and Kristi’s pride for this great country. His favorite drink is a Hot Americano with a “splash” of cream and one stevia.

Kristi Sturgeon

Owner/Operator

You’ll find Kristi mostly at the Spring Hill shop.  Kristi is the heart behind the company, always showing love to the employees and the customers.  Kristi will tell you that there have been so many “small-town” moments and White Shepherd seems to be at the center.  If Kristi isn’t working the shop, she’s likely watching one of her kids at their sporting events.  She’s a sports mom through and through.  Kristi’s favorite drink is a traditional Vanilla Latte, if she’s feeling spicy, she may throw a little cinnamon on top.

She loves long walks on the beach and her favorite drink is always a mystery, but right now it’s a Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso!
